Dr. Ramsey M. Fanous was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He received a BBA in finance and economics from Baylor University, and graduated with honors from the Baylor College of Dentistry in 1990. Dr. Fanous completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1995.
Dr. Fanous, with 17 years of clinical experience, is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, where he has been involved on a national level, and a Fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the North Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, where he served as president. Dr. Fanous formerly served on the Board of the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and since 2005 has been listed as a D Magazine "Best Dentist"in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Fanous has extensive training and clinical experience in dental implant surgery and in managing maxillofacial injuries, including soft and hard tissue trauma. He specializes in pediatric and adult facial reconstructive surgery and subsequently has taken facial trauma calls for Baylor University Medical Center and the Medical Center of Plano for years. Dr. Fanous has lectured on trauma, orthognathic surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, and dental implants in Mexico City, Philippines, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Austin.
Dr. Fanous participated in a six-week mission trip to the Philippines where he performed corrective cleft lip and palate surgeries for local children. He is active in his community and is dedicated to helping the youth of the city. He coaches his daughter's soccer team, is an avid runner, enjoys many sporting activities, and is an aspiring artist.
