As one of the premier oral surgery practices in the greater Plano area, Texas Oral Surgery Group assist patients with wisdom teeth issues on a routine basis. With extensive training in all types of wisdom teeth treatments, both Dr. Larry Stewart and Dr. Wayne Michael are equipped to handle any types of complications. While most people have their first two sets of molars by the time they’re about 12 years old, the third set, often referred to as wisdom teeth, typically erupt in your late teens or early twenties. Because wisdom teeth are prone to impaction, crowding, and other problems, they’re often removed to protect your oral health. With more than 30 years of combined experience, Dr. Stewart and Dr. Michael have been recognized as the premier wisdom teeth specialists in Plano and Northern Texas. If you are experiencing any wisdom teeth discomfort, we encourage you to contact us at one of our four office locations in Plano, Denton, Decatur, or Gainesville.
What Are Wisdom Teeth?
Third molars are commonly referred to as wisdom teeth. They are usually the last teeth to develop and are located in the back of your mouth, behind your second molars. Their development is usually completed between the middle teenage years and early twenties, a time traditionally associated with the onset of maturity and the attainment of wisdom.
